Lindsey Vonn said Thursday she "took a bunch" of painkillers and used "some creams" to numb her bruised and swollen right shin before an Olympic downhill training run. Vonn said on her Twitter feed that "warmup was still very painful" but she thinks she will be able to try the training run.

The majority owners of the St. Louis Rams have reached an agreement to sell the team to an Illinois businessman who doesn't want to move the team, according to published reports Thursday. Both STLtoday.com, the Web site for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the online newspaper Globe-Democrat.com cited unidentified sources in disclosing the pending sale to Shahid Khan of Urbana, Ill.

It's another Alpine weather wipeout: Women's downhill training won't go on as planned Sunday because of heavy rain and snow. It's the third women's training session that has been called off at the Vancouver Games. Continued warm temperatures, mixed with snow, rain and fog have wreaked havoc with the Alpine schedule, and both the men and the women have yet to hold a race.

David Stern said Saturday the NBA is projecting league-wide losses of about $400 million this season and has lost hundreds of millions in each previous year of the current collective bargaining agreement.
